Conquering the height of the Everest Base Camp is thrilling and exciting, as the trek takes you through breathtaking landscapes, challenging terrain, and a lap of the World’s highest mountain. Situated in the home of several mountain peaks, the Everest Base Camp trek is an exceptional combination of natural beauty and cultural richness.

The majestic mountain peaks, the freshness of the air in the region, and the fantastic nature of Everest Base Camp call about 40,000 trekkers every year to trek. Trekking in Nepal was started in the 1960s and is now renowned as the best trekking destination in the World. Everest base camp comes first on the list of the best trekking destinations, recognizing Nepal worldwide.

Conquering the height of the Everest Base Camp is indeed impressive. However, it is necessary to remember that you require the best guidance to start your trek on EBC. Boundless Adventure has been guiding trekkers from around the world since 1992 AD. By analyzing the review of our client, all are satisfied with our service.

We provide service to the trekkers for most trekking destinations in Nepal, including Everest Base Camp. We have a different package for Everest Base Camp trekking. One trekking package is 11 days of Everest helicopter trekking; another is an Everest base camp trek with helicopter return; another is 14 days of trekking and a short trek for Everest base camp of 12 days. We are also providing the Everest three-pass trek, which involves getting to the Everest Base Camp.

A Day Explore at Everest Base Camp

To get to Base camp, you'll first trek up to GorakShep. After getting on the Gorakshep, you'll have your lunch, and then after leaving your bag at the Goreksep hotel, you'll go for the exploration day at Everest Base Camp.

There are two Everest base camps; one is new, and another is old. Most trekkers choose to go for a new one, moreover, some go for both. Whether you want to go to the new base camp or the old one is your choice. The views seen from both are the same.

It takes around 2-3 hours to get to the top of the base camp from Gorakshep. The Everest base camp is 5,364 meters (17,598 ft) above sea level. The first part of the trail to the base camp leads through a rocky glacier, and the last part is a melting glacier. The view is less from the Everest region; you and the Glacier will be at the Everest base camp. However, Khumbutse and Lingtren's peaks can be seen from the base camp.

After spending time at Everest base camp, you'll return to GorakShep for overnight stay.

Best Views from Kalapathar

Early in the morning, from the tea house of the Gorakshep, you'll head for the Kala Patthar. With a packed meal and headlight, you'll move for the best viewpoint of the Everest region, Kala Patthar. Lying at 5550m, Kalapathar has a better view than Everest Base Camp.

The view of the world's highest mountain peak, Mount Everest (8,848.86 m), from the top of the Kalapathar is spectacular. However, the view of Mount Everest can't be seen from the Everest Base camp; that's why Kalapatthar is called a better viewpoint than Base Camp. You'll probably get on the Kalapttahr before sunrise; your eyes will be blessed with the sun rising over Everest.

Besides Mount Everest, the Kalapathar provides 360 views of other mountains. Next to Mount Everest, Nuptse (7,861 m) is a notable mountain from Kala Patthar. Similarly, a prominent peak seen from Kala Patthar is the world's fourth-highest mountain, Lhotse (8,516m). AmaDablam, a beautiful mountain in the Everest region (6,812 m) can be seen from Kalapathar. The view of the Pumori (7,161 m), a mountain shaped like a pyramid, makes the view from Kalapathar more attractive. Additionally, the view of  Lingtren and Khumbutse is also visible from Kalapatthar.

Glacier

While trekking to the Everest Base Camp, you’ll pass through the Khumbu Glacier. The Khumbu Glacier is the highest and largest glacier in Nepal. The Khumbu Glacier is about 15 km long and has an elevation of 4,900m. However, the size of the glacier changes every year. The Khumbu Glacier moves about 3 to 4 feet down the side of Mount Everest.

The Khumbu glacier flows from the western Cwm, a glacial valley between Mount Everest and Lhotse Ridge.

The Khumbu Glacier starts from the trail to Everest Base camp. While going towards Everest Base Camp from Gorakshep, you’ll walk along the Khumbu Glacier. Because the trail to Everest Base Camp passes through the Khumbu Glacier, the glacier is the most visited in the world.

Best Time to go

The Everest Base Camp faces four different seasons and 12 months. Each season contains three months. Among the four seasons, March to May (Spring) and September to November  (Autumn) are considered the best seasons for trekking in Everest Base Camp.

Spring is a pre-monsoon season in Nepal, and falls during the beginning of March and middle of June. The moderate temperature, with not much hot and not much cold, makes the month between March and May the ideal time for an Everest base camp trek. Clear sky with good visibility and blooming rhododendrons make the spring one of the best times for trekking in Everest Base Camp.

Besides Spring, Autumn, a post-monsoon season, is the best time for trekking in Everest Base Camp. Autumn falls during late September and early November. Stable weather and clear skies provide stunning views of the mountains, making the months of September to November the perfect time to embark on the Everest Base Camp trek.

From providing a glimpse into the Sherpa culture to the beauty of the Himalayas, every step of the trek offers you different experiences that you have merely experienced.
