My 13-year-old granddaughter, MacKayleigh has big dreams for herself.  She wants to be a Neonatal Surgeon and play softball for the University of Oklahoma.  Her 4.0 GPA and honors programs are proving her aspirations for the surgeon part and a recent selection to represent team Kansas at the National All State Softball Championship Games in Viere, Florida December 28 through December 31, 2023, is proving her University of Oklahoma dreams.

MacKayleigh started her journey in fastpitch softball at the age of 8.  She has continued to play throughout the years to follow.  She is a catcher and plays 3 base and 1 base as well.  The last three years she has been selected by her opponents and opposing coaches to represent Team Kansas in the Missouri/Kansas All State Games that are held in Overland Park, KS.  This past July, she played in those same games and in August, got word that she had been selected to represent Team Kansas in the National All State Championships that are held in Florida in December.  Yon can see MacKayleigh’s softball portfolio at https://www.usssa.com/fastpitch/PlayerLocker/?playerID=6607745.

This is the second year for the National All State Championships to be run.  MacKayleigh, her mom, stepdad, grandma, and aunt will travel to Florida in December for her to get the experience of a lifetime.  This will include a private practice session with members of the National USSSA Pride Fastpitch Softball team to include her favorite player of all time, Jocelyn Alo, former University of Oklahoma softball player.  She will then meet with her teammates from all over the nation and have formal practice.  That night she will be able to interact with all the players that have been nominated and get National recognition on stage at the softball field.  Pool play will be on Friday and Saturday and bracket will start on Sunday.

Currently, we are working hard to raise $6,500.00 to get to USSSA games in Florida. This will cover all travel expenses, hotel, equipment, and registration fees. We are still looking for sponsors to get MacKayleigh to Florida to represent Kansas. We hope we can count on your support to help get MacKayleigh to Florida to represent our state!
