For over three weeks Keisha, her mom Lily, and daughter Leah have been camping outside of a private detention center in a campaign to free her husband Pablo. Pablo’s indefinite detention has lasted over five months, an agonizing time for his family who had hoped for good news of a release or bond opportunity. But last week they learned the government has decided to pursue deportation against Pablo. This would tear a beautiful family apart and deeply traumatize Leah (who, at just six years old, is being forced out of childhood from the pain and sorrow of her father’s kidnapping). What this family needs most now is competent legal representation to help Pablo overcome a racist and inhumane court system. Please do what you can to support a family that I love and deeply care about. We can keep families together! We can free them all!
Pablo is a father and husband. He has been incarcerated in the for-profit private ICE detention center in Aurora, Co for almost 6 months. Kesha, Pablo's wife, and their 6-year-old daughter have been camping outside the GEO facility for 25 days fighting for his release. This fundraiser will be supporting legal expenses for Pablo. In order to strengthen the fight for Pablo to reunite with his family, it is crucial for these legal fees to be met immediately.
There is a confirmed outbreak of 11 cases of COVID-19 in the Aurora GEO detention center, maybe more. This center has faced lawsuits for medical negligence in the past, and cannot be trusted to care for people detained in this center ever, let alone during a global pandemic.
The detention of Pablo has severely impacted the mental and physical health of his daughter. Kesha is fighting every day for Pablo's release while also caring for her daughter, who has been extremely traumatized by this experience.
