Coming from a low-income family one hardly can afford to follow their dreams as an artist. Despite, the odds I chose to follow my dreams as an artist and get a bachelor's degree as well. I am a Theatre Performance Major, and my goal is to one day perform on Broadway in theatres near you! If God bless me, maybe one a screen! The money that you choose to donate will go toward my books, tuition, and housing. As a Theatre Performance student, I am often asked, "What do you plan to do with that degree?" My answer: I plan to use it. As a student majoring in the arts, there is a misconception that our education is useless and worthless. Nevertheless, since I know the value of the arts in our multicultural world, I ignore the underlying tone of skepticism. Many people believe that acting does not require a degree, and that may be true to some extent. Even so, as someone who comes from a low-income family, I understand the power of education and the opportunities it offers. Furthermore, I know that through hard work and persistence, I can excel as an actress. I deserve to have a chance to prove the skeptics wrong.
