Mission Statement:
"At MA Management, DBA Tactical Serenity Zone, and Amongst Us kidZ, our mission is to offer Veterans aged 55 and older the option to reside in a secure gated homestead community designed to mirror the camaraderie and safety of a military family environment. Our vision is to provide Veterans with the assurance of being surrounded by a supportive community of staff and fellow Veterans within Tactical Serenity Zone. We are dedicated to fostering a sense of belonging among our residents and empowering them with opportunities to contribute to homestead activities. Through our pioneering animal-assisted therapy program featuring miniature livestock, we aim to enhance the well-being and quality of life for our Veterans in a truly innovative way."
Executive Summary
MA Management, in collaboration with DBA Tactical Serenity Zone and Amongst Us KidZ, emerges as a compassionate endeavor led by a Post-9/11 Army Veteran and a dedicated Registered Nurse. Our mission is to provide essential services to Veterans aged 55 years and older, fostering a sense of community, healing, and purpose.
Central to our vision is the creation of MA Management, a gated homestead community nestled in the serene landscapes of Delaware County, Oklahoma, near the majestic Ozarks and Grand Lake of the Cherokees. Initially comprising ten homes, a community building known as "The Post," and a small livestock barn, our community aims to serve as a haven for Veterans seeking respite and support.
Our primary objectives are threefold: to combat the alarming rates of Veteran suicide, to provide assistance with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) management, and to facilitate increased social interaction among Veterans. While the initial phase impacts less than 1% of the targeted demographic, subsequent phases envision the expansion to include thirty residential homes on a single site.
Looking ahead, MA Management envisions this innovative Veteran residential model as a blueprint for replication across multiple locations nationwide. Through our dedication, expertise, and unwavering commitment to Veterans' well-being, we strive to make a meaningful and lasting impact on the lives of those who have served our country.
Co-Founders of MA Management DBA Tactical Serenity Zone:
Melissa Crotty, Post 911 Army Veteran with over 10 years of experience in property management.
Amy Guinn, Registered Nurse with over 17 years of nursing with the senior population and small livestock experience.
OBJECTIVE:
Develop a supportive and protected living environment tailored for veterans without permanent housing, experiencing homelessness, or seeking to transition to a more manageable living arrangement by downsizing from their current residence.
Each veteran home will encompass 700 square feet of environmentally-friendly space, constructed from two 40-foot shipping containers and featuring an 8-foot by 20-foot concrete pad to expand living area. Safety features include baseboard trim LED lighting, handicap/wheelchair accessible doors throughout, and grab bars to aid veterans during nighttime ambulation. Additionally, each home will be furnished with essential appliances such as a refrigerator, dishwasher, drop-in stove, and washer and dryer.
Offer veterans residing at Tactical Serenity Zone access to mental health resources that destigmatize seeking therapy for mental health issues, PTSD, and suicide prevention.
Facilitate access to certified and experienced veteran counselors and therapists who will be invited to Tactical Serenity Zone to address veterans in group sessions, as well as extending invitations to veterans from the broader community to participate.
Ensure that veterans residing at Tactical Serenity Zone experience peace of mind and comfort knowing that management staff will live on-site to provide daily assistance and check on their well-being.
Promote greater social interaction among veterans and encourage community involvement with other veterans by facilitating daily gatherings at the central community building, "The Post," where veterans can come together to socialize, enjoy coffee, and participate in various interactive activities.
Establish collaborative partnerships and networks with other veteran organizations to enhance and broaden the scope of Tactical Serenity Zone, fostering continuous improvement and expansion.
Further enhance the existing model of MA Management with a diverse board of directors comprising veterans, faith-based individuals, and business professionals, guiding the organization toward continued progress and future success.
Utilizing our pioneering approach of animal-assisted therapy with miniature livestock, we introduce our inaugural group of Nigerian Dwarf goats. These goats, carefully selected and proven to be therapeutic through the eyes of our co-founders, have been interacting with veterans on a weekly basis for the past two years. Their presence embodies the healing potential of our innovative therapy program, Tactical Serenity Zone would welcome a research study being done to provide the military with proof that this type of therapy is effective for mental health.
