About Me

Over the past 4 years, I have traveled to Malawi Africa and Costa Rica with Habitat, building structurally sound homes for the less fortunate. I could not have made these missions without the support of my friends and acquaintances who made a tax-deductible donation.

I truly enjoy giving back to the less fortunate, in my country as well as international.  Building brings me a sense of great pride and accomplishment, testing the limits of myself.  Your generous donation will provide shelter, food, transportation while in the country and a small donation to Global Village.

The Costa Rica trip brought together nine people who did not know each other and from that trip we have formed a great bond of friendship that continues.  We will once again be a team be traveling together to improve the living conditions of one family.

Please consider making a charitable donation to allow me to give back!  Thank you!

More Info

In 2001, Argentina suffered a severe economic collapse that left 50 percent of the population below the poverty line. Today, almost one-third of Argentine families live in inadequate housing conditions, some of them in severely overcrowded houses with more than three people per room. About 3 million homes are in need of replacement or rehabilitation.

In addition to its traditional homebuilding model, Habitat for Humanity Argentina uses a variety of creative initiatives to help the most people possible. These include:Assisted rentals: This project acts as a bridge for families living in inadequate conditions such as poor-quality hotels or boarding houses.Legal literacy: This program helps families navigate the obstacles involved with legalizing their land, and educates them on the various aspects of purchasing property within the legal system.Financial education: Through a series of workshops, families learn to administer their income, design a budget, analyze and control their expenses, and follow a savings plan.Incremental improvements: This project is designed to help families who have a home that needs an extension or an improvement, and who do not have sufficient income to repay a loan.

Habitat for Humanity Argentina welcomes the Global Village teams that come to assist people with simple, decent, affordable homes. Your donation is greatly appreciated.

Global Village is Habitat for Humanity’s international volunteer program. Teams travel to over 40 countries to work alongside communities, build housing solutions, and experience local culture. Our goal is to change the lives of the people we serve, as well as the lives of the volunteers.

About Habitat for Humanity International

Driven by the vision that everyone needs a decent place to live, Habitat for Humanity began in 1976 as a grassroots effort on a community farm in southern Georgia. The housing organization has since grown to become a leading global nonprofit working in more than 1,300 communities throughout the U.S. and in more than 70 countries. Families and individuals in need of a hand up partner with Habitat for Humanity to build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. Through financial support, volunteering or adding a voice to support affordable housing, everyone can help families achieve the strength, stability and self-reliance they need to build better lives for themselves. Through shelter, we empower. To learn more, visit habitat.org.
