Mark's medical needs to treat PTS and Traumatic Brain Injury

From Mark H.

I am trying to raise funds to help with my medical costs that are not covered. I am a disabled veteran who served with honor in Naval Special Warfare (SEAL). I have been diagnosed with PTS and TBI from my service.

Update #3

I wanted to let you know about the latest happenings!

I graduated from 62 Romeo (the intensive sleep therapy program I was accepted to). This is a phenomenal program and my sleep has gone from horrible to AWESOME! Sleep is SO important and affects every thing in my body and life as a whole. I am very grateful for the SEAL Future Foundation (SFF) for paying my tuition. What a life-changer!

My last court case was dismissed as the DA said they have no case. I am really close to getting my license back but need the funds to pay the fees.

I pray that you are well and enjoying the Fall season. I enjoyed the summer but bring on the snow!

More Info

“Mark, you’re in the greatest battle of your life!” – Mother of a fallen SEAL.

While serving as a US Navy SEAL (Class 211), I sustained several injuries that have worsened greatly. My body and brain have degraded to the point of being 90% VA disabled (working on the last 10%).

Just over a year ago, while being divorced by me wife, I was diagnosed with PTS and TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) from my service. If you look at the scan of my brain, there's large sections of very little (blue) or no blood flow (black, no oxygen) with hyperactivity.

PTS is a battle that most people can't see. It’s called the “The Silent Scream.” Mine has deteriorated with Teammates being killed (some by suicide), Afghanistan falling, and the TBI. So you know, having TBI and PTS makes them both worse.

Healing is a very long and expensive process. Would you prayerfully consider helping?

I’m still in Intensive Outpatient Therapy (IOP) for the host of PTS issues. I had a battle with alcohol, but I thank the Lord for in and outpatient therapy, Celebrate Recovery’s 12-Step Program, my new and awesome church, and support by a few really special people, I am clean and healthier as days go by.

I’m usually not one to ask for help (part of my problem), but I DO BELIEVE that Jesus still loves me and wants to provide for me in this valley. I would like enter a post-grad program in cybersecurity.

I constantly seek out therapies that have worked for others like me. Unfortunately, some of the key therapies are expensive and I must pay for them myself. I've not had a HBOT (HyberBaric Oxygen Therapy) session for my TBI in over two months.

Plain and simple, I’ve run out of funds. That's why I'm asking you to join "the greatest battle" of my life.

Thank you for your time. I know it is precious. Please know that all funds are overseen by three Christian businessmen.

May God bless you and may He bless the greatest country in the world! If you ever want to learn much about PTS or TBI, please let me know.

PLEASE watch "Quiet Explosions: Healing the Brain"!!  It's really informative for veterans, families, athletes, first responders, and friends!  (Link in the photos)

Update #2

Everything is on the up-and-up! My sleep has gotten MUCH better (the key to total body and mind health) as I am in a sleep science program called 62Romeo. I need to start doing HBOT (HyperBarric Oxygen Therapy twice a week (3 would be better) and at $80 a session, the money dries up fast. I hope you can help.

Update #1

Great news! I applied for and was excepted into the 62 Romeo sleep program. This is a program specifically for spec ops guys who struggle with sleep. I also received a scholarship from the Seal Future Foundation to attend this program.
