About Olivia

Olivia was newly 2 years old when she had her first febrile seizure. Two months later Olivia had a 27 minute long absent seizure that was not febrile. Olivia got her official epilpesy diagnosis on January 9th, 2021, at the age of 2. Olivia has nocturnal frontal lobe epilepsy and absent seizures. Generally, her seizures occur in her sleep. They are convulsive seizures, she stops breathing, she wets herself and vomits, she turns insanely blue, and sometimes rescue medications are needed. With these occurring at night Olivia is customed to sleeping in our room, school is terrified as she started kindergarten this year, we worry as she is not as confident or independent as she should be. As parents we looked into getting a seizure alert dog, when we saw pricing, no insurance does NOT pay for it we asked several times, there was no way to do this alone. We started a GoFundMe but that was a dead end. We are hoping this page gets more views and more people see this. The dog would allow Olivia the independence she needs, she would be able to sleep in her own room and bed, she would be able to go to school and have staff and peers and her or us worry if and when she will seize. It would allow us to be alerted and others near by, in the middle of the night, at the store, etc when and sometimes before it happens, and the dog would be able to join Olivia with everything she does and it would only help encourage her confidency and independence as she goes throughout her life. The seizure alert dog will be able to prevent injury if she were to fall, it would remind her of medication times, it would be able to aide humans in getting her rescue medications, and most of all it would be a friend when sometimes its lonely being the kid with seizures.

We just ask for a donation. Anything helps.

Thank you!
