Hello friends, I'm reaching out today with a heartfelt plea for help. I'm a 24-year-old college student who works tirelessly as a senior citizen caregiver to make ends meet. The burden of student loans and challenges of the economy have made it incredibly hard for me to save for a new car. But the urgency of my situation goes beyond my own needs. I needed that car not only for myself but also for my mom, who is 60 years old and faces a multitude of health challenges. In 2018, she had a heart attack and battle carpal tunnel syndrome, arthritis, back problems, muscle spasms, diabetic retinopathy, and glaucoma. She also experiences episodes of pressure building in her right eye, leading to debilitating headaches that require her eye fluid to be drained. She has stents in her heart and a tube in her eye for drainage. To make matters even more critical, my mom almost lost her battle with Covid-19 in 2021. She needed urgent infusion treatment, but we had no means to get there sooner, leading to her growing sicker by the day. Fortunately, she received the treatment in time to save her life, but it highlighted the pressing need for reliable transportation for medical emergencies. In July 2023 I finally bought a new car after years of saving, but within a week, a devastating accident took place. I was T-Boned by an F150 truck carrying tree logs, leaving my car totaled and me with severe injuries, including blindness in my right eye and glass embedded in my arms. The aftermath of the accident added to my challenges as a blackout at my apartment caused me to quickly buy a cooler to salvage my diabetic mom's insulin and on top of this, I had to pay $400 to retrieve my wrecked car from the Madison Heights Pound and find a salvage company, all while dealing with a difficult driver who didn't honor the initial agreement that I can have any part of my car. Today, I'm in desperate need of financial assistance to provide transportation for my family. Owning a car is a lifeline for us. It would mean the world to me if you could contribute to help me purchase a new car and ensure my mother's access to critical medical care. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a significant difference and one step closer to buying a new car. Thank you for your support and generosity during this challenging time. Please consider donating and sharing this campaign with your network. Your help can help me rebuild my life and provide much needed support to my family. With gratitude, Shan Bruton
