It is time we took this seriously!

For the past 25 years, we as a nation have all but ignored the clear and present danger of our children's exposure to internet pornography. We talk about it as if it is a nuisance or an annoyance or a part of growing up. But this content causes aggression, depression, loneliness, increases sexual assault on middle school campuses, rewires neural pathways in the brain, and fast forwards our children through what should be a natural, normal, gradual, exploration process. It also takes all the fun out of being young and exploring sex slowly and carefully.

There is plenty of blame to go around, but our children deserve none of it.

On the contrary we as grown-ups have allowed this content to become as familiar to our youngest children as Caillou and Cocomelon. Teachers, counselors, principals, superintendents, nurses, pastors, coaches, and parents simply ignore this part of every child's eventual experience and presume that they "won't watch it", or "understand what it is" or "ignore its messages." That is not what is happening. In ever increasing numbers our children are using pornography as their own sex education with devastating consequences.

This is a health challenge for all of our children and deserves our fervent and national attention. We are fond of saying if kids would just turn green by watching internet pornography the CDC would have helicopters in the air, and this would be a red-lights-flashing-all-hands-on-deck-emergency! But they don't. They watch in a silence equally as deafening as our silent reaction.

We can do better. We are working to be better and we need your help. Please visit our site and watch our videos. Please make a donation here or on our website. Please help us drag this challenge out into the light and end the silence surrounding such a devastating and potentially life-long hurt to kids that, statistically, they will first see at one of the most developmentally important times in their entire lives, and watch (on the average) of 10,000 times before they leave high school.

Conversation and communication are the solution, and we have called our strategy, The Third Talk.

Thank you.
